Approaching 6 months of building closure

It's now approaching 6 months now since the building was closed due to failure of the building maintenance system following the award to VIVO Defence as a result of Volunteer_Estate_Value_for_Money_Study_Report.pdf which concluded that RFCA use MOD's existing built estates supplier starting in August 2024 as it would provide better value for money. We thank those members of the local community that have helped us continue to deliver with alternatives and RAFAC HQ who have tried their best to resolve.

Last week, the cadets did some drill practice, partly in readiness for parades that are coming up, partly to give new prospective NCOs some experience "at the front" and also to sharpen up Squadron discipline. Drill is a powerful aid to discipline. It develops a sense of corporate pride, alertness, precision and readiness to obey orders instantly. Good drill in aircraft is directly fostered by the habit of drilling smartly on parade. Thus, smartness on parade is not only a sign of good discipline, but a basic factor in raising the standard of performance in duties. Back in the (really) old days, the Air Cadets used to have its own Air Cadet drill manual. Nowadays this is all gone. The RAFAC aligns wholly to the RAF Drill manual called AP818 . Wearing poppy's with RAF Air Cadet blues and MTP uniforms

Air Cadets wear poppy's with their uniform in the lead up to the Remembrance Parades each year. This information was taken from the 20231026-RAFAC_Poppy_With_Pride_Poster_SCO_V5-O.pdf From: The onset of sales each year. Until: The end of national and local observation of remembrance. Always: On remembrance parades/events by all RAFAC personnel involved. Never: Worn with flying clothing, GPJ, wet weather clothing or on head dress. For ceremonial dress and parades the conventional paper poppy is to be worn. On working dress and combat uniform a plain enamel poppy badge not exceeding 2.5cm (1”) may be worn. The plain enamel badge may be worn with Mess dress at the discretion of the PMC or CMC. When worn it is to be positioned immediately above the right breast pocket (preferably inserted in the button hole) of the No 1 SD jacket and in the corresponding position on female jackets, No2, No3 and Mess dress. What are TG Forms and where to get them?

TG Forms is the term we use to refer to Activity-related Parent/Guardian Consent Forms. From a cadet perspective they include: - TG Form 021 : Activity Consent Form – Cadet. - TG Form 023 : Health Declaration Form There is also a TG Form 022: Activity Consent Form - Staff. The best place to find these forms for completion is via the main  https://www.bader.mod.uk/  landing page. Look for the Useful Resources section.  TG Forms are date-specific consents and require doing for each event where requested. Some parents will download the Word document and complete information that does not change once, and then print/sign with event specific details/dates, although when design this it's important to check the emergency contact details are correct for the period. It's not possible to accept these electronically at the moment, hence a wet signature version is expected, even if the rest of the details are typed in.
