Regency Run 2026 community duty and feedback, 12 Apr 2026

Cadets and staff stepped up on 1368's first community duty of 2026 helping Leamington Round Table run their fundraising 10k run, stepping up last minute taking on extra duties and both days. Great Sheggspearian-esq feedback. Many thanks to Plt Off D for sorting.


Hi- hope you're doing well and recovered from the Regency Run!

I just wanted to take a moment to let you know, that I thought the air cadets were phenomenal. I am so grateful for the cadets helping us on both days.

On Sunday in particular, I had no other tablers helping me on the merch tent, and as soon as I assigned a job to the 6 cadets that had been posted there, I felt immediately at ease because of how self sufficient and organised they were as a team. There were 2 girls in particular (I didn't catch their names sorry) that seemed to adopt leadership roles in the group, these 2 picked up the scanning app that I had sent you, and they just got on with it without any issues. I had a particular process that they grasped really quickly, and I was really grateful that they respected and followed it and got the whole team behind it.

They were instrumental in helping to bring the merch queue down to manageable levels, which really built up at about 10:45. They performed exceptionally under pressure. I don't think I can emphasise enough just how fantastic they were 😁

I've passed all of this on to [others] as well. Others I have spoken to have similar praise. And so I just wanted to say thank you again, and I hope our paths cross again soon between our 2 groups 🙂

Last week, the cadets did some drill practice, partly in readiness for parades that are coming up, partly to give new prospective NCOs some experience "at the front" and also to sharpen up Squadron discipline. Drill is a powerful aid to discipline. It develops a sense of corporate pride, alertness, precision and readiness to obey orders instantly. Good drill in aircraft is directly fostered by the habit of drilling smartly on parade. Thus, smartness on parade is not only a sign of good discipline, but a basic factor in raising the standard of performance in duties. Back in the (really) old days, the Air Cadets used to have its own Air Cadet drill manual. Nowadays this is all gone. The RAFAC aligns wholly to the RAF Drill manual called AP818 . What are TG Forms and where to get them?

TG Forms is the term we use to refer to Activity-related Parent/Guardian Consent Forms. From a cadet perspective they include: - TG Form 021 : Activity Consent Form – Cadet. - TG Form 023 : Health Declaration Form There is also a TG Form 022: Activity Consent Form - Staff. The best place to find these forms for completion is via the main  https://www.bader.mod.uk/  landing page. Look for the Useful Resources section.  TG Forms are date-specific consents and require doing for each event where requested. Some parents will download the Word document and complete information that does not change once, and then print/sign with event specific details/dates, although when design this it's important to check the emergency contact details are correct for the period. It's not possible to accept these electronically at the moment, hence a wet signature version is expected, even if the rest of the details are typed in. Air Cadets wear poppy's with their uniform in the lead up to the Remembrance Parades each year. This information was taken from the 20231026-RAFAC_Poppy_With_Pride_Poster_SCO_V5-O.pdf From: The onset of sales each year. Until: The end of national and local observation of remembrance. Always: On remembrance parades/events by all RAFAC personnel involved. Never: Worn with flying clothing, GPJ, wet weather clothing or on head dress. For ceremonial dress and parades the conventional paper poppy is to be worn. On working dress and combat uniform a plain enamel poppy badge not exceeding 2.5cm (1”) may be worn. The plain enamel badge may be worn with Mess dress at the discretion of the PMC or CMC. When worn it is to be positioned immediately above the right breast pocket (preferably inserted in the button hole) of the No 1 SD jacket and in the corresponding position on female jackets, No2, No3 and Mess dress.
